Looking Ahead: Thriving Together in 2026 - Robin Fox

Hello ICF North Texas community,

I’m Robin Fox, your 2026 Director of Programs. My passion is creating spaces where people feel genuinely valued and supported, and I’m honored to help shape a year of meaningful connection and growth for our chapter.

As we step into 2026 with our theme of Thriving Together, the Programs Committee is hard at work finalizing a schedule designed with you at the center. Our focus this year is simple and intentional: ensuring that all members feel valued, heard, and cared for. We know that thriving doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens in community, through shared learning, authentic relationships, and opportunities that meet you where you are in your coaching journey.

Your audience will walk away with a proven, easy-to-implement approach that turns follow-up into a consistent, results-generating habit. Whether you're struggling to stay organized, afraid of being pushy, or just not seeing results, this session delivers the clarity and motivation you need to take action.

Celebrating Black History Month 2026

At ICF North Texas, we proudly celebrate Black History Month by honoring the powerful legacy, leadership, and resilience of Black communities. This year's chapter theme, Thriving Together: Celebrating Strengths and Expanding Possibilities, reminds us that inclusion fuels growth, not just for individuals, but for the coaching profession as a whole.

As a chapter, we stand with the International Coaching Federation’s global commitment to DEIB by elevating representation, creating equitable policies, and fostering accessible learning environments. These aren’t just initiatives, they’re imperatives.

Let’s use this moment not only to remember but to act, to examine our biases, amplify diverse voices, and co-create spaces where every coach and client feels seen, valued, and empowered.

Message from Nick Dillon, DEIB Director: "Thriving together begins when we believe in the power of every story, every struggle, and every strength. This month, let’s lead with presence, purpose, and the mindset to grow, together."

Interested in learning more? Contact Nick Dillon, DEIB director at deib@icf-nt.com.

Remembering Lee Smith

ICF North Texas honors and remembers Dr. Lee Smith, a founding member of our chapter whose vision and leadership helped shape both our community and the coaching profession we are part of today. A pioneer in the early days of coaching, Lee earned one of the profession’s early MCC credentials through ICF. She went on to educate generations of coaches by co-writing curriculum for Coach University and later serving as Coach Training Program Director at the University of Texas at Dallas. Lee also co-founded CoachWorks International, through which she traveled globally to train and coach corporate executives and teams. Guided by a deep commitment to servant leadership, Lee’s legacy continues through our chapter, the coaches she developed, and the profession.

Updated details for Lee’s Celebration of Life are shared here:

Thought Leadership Corner

This year, we’re introducing a new thought-leadership feature in our newsletter - short reflections on the ideas shaping coaching today and into the future. I’m grateful to begin the conversation.

When I first thought about what to share, I assumed I would focus on what’s changing in the future of coaching. What kept coming up instead was what isn’t changing. Even as the world becomes more complex and fast-paced, our core coaching skills - curiosity, presence, and partnership - remain essential. For me, coaching is a path to thriving for our clients and ourselves.

I’m seeing clients show up more hurried and overwhelmed than ever before; I feel it too. There’s a constant sense of urgency and an unspoken belief that the only way to keep up is to put your head down and go it alone. Presence slips away, and judgment quickly replaces curiosity. Yet when we intentionally pause, breathe, and reconnect to presence, something shifts. New insights emerge, thinking clears, and hope returns. Through our partnership, thriving becomes possible again.

We know more people are experiencing coaching and recognizing the value it brings. The 2025 ICF Global Coaching Study Executive Summary highlights increasing demand for coaching as we all uncertainty, complexity, and rapid change. Coaching revenues surpassed $5 billion in 2025, and nearly 60% of coaches expect continued growth. That growth is good news for our profession, but even more so for the individuals and communities our work helps transform.

While the world continues to change, what feels steady to me is what remains constant: our ability to offer curiosity, presence, and partnership. In a world that needs it more than ever, those skills make thriving possible and I invite you to practice them with us through conversation and connection at ICF North Texas.
