Too often, leadership development focuses solely on skills and strategies, while neglecting the essential role of health, balance, and self-investment. In this session, attendees will explore practical strategies for fostering a healthy work-life balance, enhancing self-awareness, and adopting leadership practices that align with their unique strengths.
Recognizing that how we lead is not one-size-fits-all, this session emphasizes the importance of authenticity, resilience, and intentional well-being. Participants will leave with tools to invest in themselves—professionally and personally—to lead more effectively and sustainably.

Dr. Fernandez graduated from Concordia University Texas with her Doctor of Education degree, with an emphasis in Educational Administration. She currently serves as Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. Dr. Thomas Fernandez has over ten years of experience in higher education, spanning teaching, workforce development, and advancement, as well as compliance and policy. Her passion to combine healthcare with education has transformed her career. She is motivated by student success. Dr. Thomas Fernandez serves as a board of director with Texas Women in Higher Education. She enjoys connecting with students in the classroom and following them throughout their careers after graduation. Dr. Thomas Fernandez is a Fulbright Specialist and delivered a TEDx Talk in April 2022 titled We Are From Here. In her spare time, she enjoys doing yoga, Pilates, cooking, reading, and traveling.
