Happiness Through Neuroscience
presented by Juanita Rowley, PCC
Juanita Rowley has over 35 years of professional experience across Coaching, being a CEO, and program development and implementation, and has launched three successful entrepreneurial businesses. She is the creator of Happiness Through Neuroscience and is on a mission to bring the knowledge of how people have the ability to mindful and purposefully change their thinking to achieve happiness, contentment, and peace.
Juanita earned an MA in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience and Executive Coaching, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a PCC with the International Coaching Federation and was in Cohort 4 for her Graduate Certificate in Executive and Professional Coaching through the University of Texas at Dallas.
Program Description:
Neuroscience advancements and research show that many behaviors can be tracked through various parts of the brain, and that the part of the brain that is different in humans, the Prefrontal Cortex, has significant impact on behavior choices. By understanding what is happening in the brain, we can harness our own ability to direct thoughts and rewire our brain to modify the flow of thoughts within our brain, experience the change in thinking that is produced from the new routes, and realize the behavior changes that lead to a more content and happy life.
For you and for your clients, harnessing your own abilities to direct your thoughts and rewire your brain can lead to happiness becoming a reality for you. The ability to experience all of the things in your life differently is within you. There is so much power in your mind and, as a human, your brain is already designed to do so much more than it is typically given credit for. You have the ability to change what your life looks like. Being happy and finding peace and contentment are within your grasp. To actually be happy and to have a life where you can wake up to joy and excitement for what the day will bring and go to bed at night thinking about how much fun the day was and feeling grateful for being alive and able to enjoy life is truly possible. You can feel the freedom that comes from living your life the way you want it to be. This isn’t about envisioning something and wishing for it to happen. This isn’t waving a magic wand and having your life change to something different. This is about rewiring, literally changing the pathways in your brain, so that the way you think is changed to create the life you desire. It isn’t magic. We are all already made this way. It’s about learning how it works and making it work for you. And by learning how it works, and taking that into your coaching, you can lead your clients into making it work for them, too.

How Attentional Focus can reshape the brain
Why telling doesn’t work and the effects of Error Detection
